Classic Disc / Saucer
Most iconic and historically reported shape
Circular or oval metallic craft, often with a raised dome on top. Frequently reported with rotating lights or a central glow.
Tic Tac / Oblong Capsule
Modern military-reported shape (Nimitz 2004, etc.)
Smooth, white or metallic oblong/capsule shape with no visible wings, rotors, or propulsion. Extremely high maneuverability.
Black Triangle / Delta
Very large, silent triangular craft
Massive equilateral or delta-shaped craft, often with bright lights at each corner and a central red/orange light.
Cigar / Cylinder
Long, elongated craft
Cylindrical or cigar-shaped objects, sometimes with windows or portholes along the side.
Orb / Sphere
Most commonly reported shape globally
Glowing spherical objects ranging from small metallic orbs to large luminous balls of light.
Boomerang / V-Shape / Chevron
Large winged or chevron craft
V-shaped or boomerang-shaped objects, often very large and silent.
Diamond / Rhombus
Angular, geometric craft
Sharp-edged diamond or rhombus-shaped objects, often with lights at the points.
Mothership / Large Carrier
Massive carrier-type craft
Enormous craft that appear to launch or recover smaller objects. Often described as city-sized or aircraft-carrier scale.
