UAP Update — August 29 to September 9, 2026

Last report closed with Release 5 still the latest official dump and a possible ~Sept 4 Release 6. Release 6 has not landed.

What is new

1. No PURSUE Release 06
Trackers are still sitting on Release 5 (August 7). The Department of War has not posted a sixth tranche. The four-week pattern broke, or slipped. That is the first fact.

2. AARO is trying to buy the largest private historical archive
Washington Headquarters Services, for AARO, issued a sole-source notice for a commercial subscription to John Marler’s NUFOHRC collection in Rio Rancho. The target is pre-1990 material AARO says it does not already hold, to meet the congressional mandate to review U.S. UAP involvement back to 1945. This is archive acquisition, not a new case.

3. Loeb’s next instrument is an “orb imager”
Avi Loeb says Galileo’s next observatory will be radar-cued, roughly metre-class, with spectroscopy — built to lock onto orbs rather than wait for lucky sky photos. That is a planning shift, not a detection.

4. Witness-handling fight: Alex Wiggins
Navy Senior Chief Alex Wiggins (USS Jackson, 2023) says that after his 2025 congressional testimony, AARO asked for a SCIF interview, then went to his chain of command and floated compelling him through the Secretary of War when he declined. That is his allegation. No public AARO letter confirming it has been produced.

5. Burlison: 1952 Air Force “flying saucer talk” is digitized
He says a 1952-era recording has been fully declassified and is queued for a future records tranche (the “Invasion of Washington” / Lincoln Lab item). Not released yet.

6. Civilian volume marker
NUFORC says it logged its 200,000th sighting report in August. That is archive scale, not verification.

7. AARO’s public science line did not move
The Naval Postgraduate School CTX Spring 2026 UAP special issue (posted to AARO’s information papers) has Kosloski on the record again: no verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial origin in cases AARO has investigated.

8. Secondary political noise (not new files)
In the same window: Luna on FBI “SIG UAP” coins; Grusch said to be talking to the White House; Coulthart circulating ~250 British police UFO accounts; Clive Lewis saying he was “definitely misled” on Five Eyes UAP talks. These are statements and process fights, not a new official case file.

• Official science is still building sensors for orbs as objects, not for operators or human-effects.
• AARO is filling its historical hole with a private archive instead of waiting for the next PURSUE dump.
• Witness-control tension is back in public (Wiggins vs AARO). That matters more than another grainy clip.
• The disclosure law and White House/whistleblower channel are still being worked. The Senate still has not finished the Burlison NDAA piece from July.

• No official NHI admission.
• No abduction / gray-reptilian file.
• No civilian-protection policy.
• Kosloski’s “no verifiable ET evidence” line is unchanged.

Read of the stall
If the four-week PURSUE beat was real, it missed. Either they are assembling a heavier batch, the lawmaker video set from late August is being treated as the interim dump, or the rolling program is slowing. Watch war.gov, not recaps.

One-line FVA
The last eleven days were process and positioning: buy the old paper, design an orb telescope, argue over who can compel a sailor, repeat “no ET.” The object-and-sensor phase continues. The operator-and-people phase is still not in the official stack.
