Football shaped objects with lights hoovers in neighborhood and streaks of with great bursts of speed and returns.
During the evening hours between 1964 and 1967 we sat outside during the summer evening. Time passed and the hour began to get late. We, a group of children and adults saw lights that were beneath a football shaped object that hovered over our project complex. This object covered an entire apartment unit in length. The object would take off at great speeds and return just a few minutes later..
We all ran back and forth through the house trying to make out what this object could possibly be..Finally the object took off at a tremendous speed and disappeared from sight. The next morning mother purchased the newspaper….Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel.. There was a photograph of two young boys holding what looked like some type of remote control and there was a circular disc laying between them. The newspaper reported that this is what we saw hovering in the night….
I was a young child, but have never ever forgotten what I saw and what was pictured in the ! paper the next morning. Even then I knew that what was being fed as truth could not possibly be what my siblings friends mother and others saw. I have searched for that article for years and have never been able to find it again.. I just wanted to review that story as an adult because still at the age of 54 now I have still not forgotten what I witnessed.
