Am a 77 year old female born and raised in England.
During my school years, I had a male teacher who was very interested in all things to do with the planets, etc.
I will never forget one day when he told us about about an occurence in 1830, long before planes, in southern England on a clear summer afternoon that he claims was reported to the authorities by peasants working in the fields of a large cigar shaped craft that came floating across the clear blue sky above the field they were working in and that it had what appeared to be some type of windows on each side.
It appears this caused much talk in the area and was written up in the publications of the time.
