Car electrical system failed, then recovered
I was driving at highway speed across rural North Carolina in a car that was only a year old, when the car stopped running as if I had turned the ignition off.
I coasted to a stop and tried to restart the car, but it was as if the battery had been removed. Nothing electrical was working. I tried the lights and radio, but not even the interior dome lamp would come on.
I looked under the hood for a loose battery cable, but everything was as it should be. I waited about ten minutes, again tried the starter, and the car started immediately, with all electrical equipment working.
The day was clear and bright, and there was no other traffic of any kind in the vicinity, no noise of any kind, and nothing unusual was seen.
