Orange cylindrical/hexagonal, motionless object, emitting no sound, above the tree line. A rod descended from the bottom.
The sighting occurred in the summer of 1966 or 1967, mid evening (the sun was not high in the sky). It was a clear day. I was 12 or 13 years-old.
I was in my yard, and noticed an object in the sky above me at approximately my 1:00 o’clock position. I had a very good, clear view of the object. The object’s distance above me was twice the height of the tree line.
The object was cylindrical/hexagonal (not really round or square); vertical in position, and emitting an orange glow or orange in color. It was not moving or making any sound.
As I watched the cylinder, a rod or similar object, still attached to the main body of the cylinder, descended from the middle of the bottom of the cylinder and appeared to move sweepingly.
At this point, I ran inside to get my mother. When we returned, the object was gone.
