Newington, CT - Triangle

Sighting of UFO near the Connecticut Light & Power Bldg., Newington, CT

In the spring/early summer of 1966 or 1967, I was living in Newington, CT maybe 400 yards across an open field with a small pond from the border with Berlin, CT, probably ½ mile inland of the Berlin Turnpike. From our deck, which was quite high, as we lived in a split-level, could be seen the Connecticut Light & Power Building that was on a hill alongside the turnpike.

I had been visiting a friend’s house the next street over and instead of cutting through their backyard and the neighbor’s directly across from our house, I chose to walk down her street, which was perhaps 200 yards, turn left facing the CLP Bldg., which was Meadow St., go perhaps another 200 yards, and then left again onto Ralph Ave. which was where my house was, perhaps another 100 yards. After I had walked about halfway on Meadow St., I happened to look up and noticed something above me, moving at my rate of speed. It was not very wide, perhaps 25 ft., but it had a small orange or red light on either side of it, the length was perhaps 25 ft. also, and it was completely noiseless.

I continued walking home, but do not really remember it. I know when I walked into the foyer which was in the middle of the levels of the house, I closed the door leaning against it. My father happened to be at the top of the upper level by the kitchen and looked at me, and said, "You look like you’ve seen a ghost." I told him what I had seen and he and I went out through the kitchen door to the deck and looked to see if we could see the object. It appeared from around the right side of the house, and then it accelerated at tremendous speed passing over the CLP Bldg.

My father swore and ran into the house, and got on the phone to report the sighting, but I’m not sure who he reported it to.
