Milford, MA - Sphere

Huge Glowing, hovering red ball descends from sky.

I was eight years old, going from my family home to a cookout next door. There was a large meadow behind our house, separated from the lawn by a small strip of forest. I was facing the meadow as I left my house, and the people at the cookout were seated in a small semi circle, facing the houses rather than the woods. I heard a soft “whoosh” sound and saw a bright red ball rapidly dropping straight down from the cloud cover. This was instantaneous, and next I saw that it was actually very large, almost the size of the entire meadow. It was a bright red ball that seemed to glow from within, and through the trees I could see it was hovering perhaps 1-2 yards from the ground. It appeared translucent and hovered for a few seconds, before whooshing straight up, back above the cloud cover. The whooshing sound was so soft it was barely audible. After this, the object was completely gone. None of the people at the cookout saw this. I was the only witness, a! nd after being transfixed by what I had seen, I also realized none of the adults would believe me and kept what I had seen to myself. I never forgot the sight of this incredible red glowing ball, and I will always remember the sense of awe that I felt. This is the first time I have documented this.
