We didn't see anything , but what we heard has never made sense to me.
We were fishing in a farm pond that was damned up between two small hills about 1 mile west of Glenvil, NE. There were between 3 to 5 kids all about 11 years of age. The year was approximately, 1966. We heard what we thought was the wind blowing through a stack of irrigation pipes. It was very loud and strange. We noticed that there was no wind blowing across the pond and the hillsides were only about 20' higher than the water level. We ran to the top of the hill where the sound came from and there wasn't any irrigation pipe to create the sound. The wind was blowing straight down on us, moving the pasture grass as if by a leaf blower and the sound seemed to be coming from above us. We looked up and did not see anything even though the sky was clear. As we stood there the wind and the sound moved off to the east at an increasing rate of speed. We talked about this for awhile with the reasoning of an 11 year old and went back to fishing never bringing this event up again. I never forgot what happened that day and while talking one day about 3 years ago to one of the other persons that was there I brought it up. I said "You know, we've been friends for over 40 years and there is one thing we have never talked about, you know what that is?" and he just looked straight ahead and said " You mean the day we went fishing?". He just kept looking straight ahead and said he didn't want to talk about it.
Are there any similar reports? I've been curious all of this time.
