Bright as day in the middle of the night.
After reading the article in July 3rd. PNW Inlander I felt compelled to relay this story told me by my fatherinlaw many times.
My father in law was a man I would trust to tell the truth. He was a truck driver as I am.
In the mid-60's he was hauling out of Trail BC overnite down to Spokane; a routine I have done myself a lot. About midnite on a clear night he was S. of Colville, WA, with no other traffic on the road.
Suddenly it seemed as though it was as bright as day and he could see cows and farm houses and the sides of the mountains.
He pulled the truck over as soon as he could to get out and look around but about the time he stopped the light went out just as suddenly as it appeared. His description was, "It was like someone turned on the sun with a switch and then switched it off."
He told me this several times over the years and the detail never changed.
