Light traveling toward and away from mountain top and tv tower on Mt. Pisgah shoots straight up at incredible speed and disappears
My dad and I went to my friend's house when I was approximately 13 years old around 1968, during late fall, chilly weather. Don't remember dates exactly, but have never forgotten it.
While our dads were talking, we walked out her driveway toward their dairy barn and had stopped, standing and talking, facing Mt. Pisgah toward the south. Pisgah has a LARGE tv tower on the very top; Mt. Pisgah is slightly over 5700'. We noticed a white light moving very smoothly to our right, directly in line with the top light of the tower, moving away from the tower, but not extremely fast. It then went the exact opposite direction without seeming to turn at all, back toward the tower. It went what appeared to be close to the tower, stopped a brief second or so, then traveled the same line back away from the tower until it was in what appeared to be the middle of the line of travel it had been following. It then shot straight up at an extremely high rate of speed and disappeared.
Everyone I've mentioned it to, at the time and in the years since, has just dismissed my account.
