While star gazing, I saw an extremely bright flash, no sound near the handle of the dipper in the north west sky
The best way to describe it would be like a strobe light but brighter, white light. I noticed a plane not far from it and recognized the significant size and brightness compared to the aircraft's lights. But I have no way to discern how high up the bright flash was in comparison to the plane.
