2022-01-31 - Frontenac, MN - Oval

I saw what looked like head lights from a jet approaching from the north. It was under a cloud - so I watched to see what it was when it flew out of the cloud. It never did. The cloud was always surrounding it. I quickly realized it was moving too slow and too low to be a jet. The light was white and constant - no other color light. Just white steady light. Did not pulse. As it got closer, I could see a cylinder or oval shaped something that glowed white moving slowly to the south with a cloud surrounding it. No noise.
The night was clear. No clouds except the moving object. The stars were bright. The moon was not shinning. Moon phase was wane cresent at 1% illumination, but it was not up yet. I checked the weather station at Frontenac State Park at that time. Wind was at 9 mph from the southeast. the temp was 28.4 degrees F. The dewpoint was 19.4 and the humidity at 68.56. This was at 7p.m. The Frontenac State Park station is about 1/2 mile from the location where I saw the object. The object was moving north to south. It was moving into the wind.
I cannot tell how high up the object was, but when it passed over an old med sized maple tree in our yard the cloud was a bit wider than the canopy of the tree. The object was a bit smaller than the cloud.
