Large sphere of blue light passed above the neighborhood.
8:25 PM, Having reached the top step on the porch, my husband raised both his arms and proclaimed that the whole place was lit from above. This was twenty minutes after the power failed, and we searched the basement in vain for the lantern light. Later, from the bay window, I watched as blue beams danced over the pile of fall leaves raked in the front yard.
Around 9 PM, I get a call from the woman down the street. She describes a large sphere of blue light as It passes above her yard. I asked her if she could estimate the size of the object. Her signal is interrupted by static; that’s when I felt the heavy beat in my chest. I decided to check the landline in the upstairs bedroom. After disconnecting the answering machine, the reassuring hum of the dial tone was still there.
9:30 PM, Bathed in the brilliant light of the blue globe, the neighborhood kids played tag amongst the Birch trees that lined Columbia.
