2021-06-01 - Olala, WA - Unknown

Shortly before 6:00 PM on June 1, 2021, I stepped outside to chat with my husband and enjoy the beautiful weather. As I was sitting on the porch step, I saw what seemed to be a reflection in my eye up and to the left of the top of one of our tallest cedars. This tree is directly in front of the driveway when you look toward the road. I could make out a tiny object slowing moving to the right. I could see sunlight glinting off of it. While watching it, I noticed another flash and looking in the sky on the other side of the tree, a little higher up, I saw another shiny object in the sky, not moving. Several minutes passed and then I saw that the first object had now moved in the sky to the right of the tree and was below and to the left of the other. At this point neither object was moving. I could see the sun reflecting off both of them. In appearance they reminded me of stars in the night sky, except they weren’t twinkling. I really couldn’t make out a shape. After several minutes they still had not moved, so I asked my husband to take a look.

He spotted them quickly and agreed that they were not moving. We watched them for around 20 minutes more and he agreed they looked metallic because of the sunlight reflecting. The object on the left was brighter. I don’t know of any commercial craft that fly that high; or, at least, when I have seen aircraft at an extreme altitude I can identify them. We were unable to identify what they were. After awhile I had to go into the house and was distracted by a phone call. At some point my husband continued with his yard work. When I came back out around 45 minutes later, both objects were gone. I have since gone outside about the same time on sunny days, but have never seen them again.

My husband snapped three pictures; at first it looked like nothing was there, but when the pictures are enlarged and you know where to look, you can see them. Of course, they are not as clear and bright as they were to our eyes, but something is definitely there. They are distorted, but look almost squarish. If you would like the pictures I will send them, but I am not sure if they would help. We have a friend who is an amateur astronomer. He did come over and look from the spot where we were standing and also saw the pictures. He doesn’t have a clue. I don’t know have a clue as to research what they might have been. We are certain, however, that they were definitely metallic, and were not moving.
