Bright White Pentagon shaped lights , really high in the sky directly above me
I had just had a horrible breakup a month or 2 before and I was thinking about really dark thoughts. I was walking on my front lawn, towards my front door and a bright and expanding light got my attention. ( I usually like to find constellations on a clear night before going home). In person I could see a pentagon shape of a white lights focused in at a single point expanding slowly, and I believe rotating, after 6-8 seconds it seemed to either explode or disperse. The moment I noticed I got my iPhone out to record within 2 seconds of noticing. ( I like to document my life). I have not edited or done anything to the video except take 2 screenshots. I have no idea what it could be, one thing I’ll note, I usually watch the , SpaceX boosters come back at night and day, Artemis and shuttle launches, and I can confirm I have not Seen ANYTHING. Like. This. Before. I went from being heartbroken that night, to wondering wtf just happened. If I were to guess the altitude I was looking at, it was very high in the atmosphere, similar to when a booster or other large object falls through atmosphere, but I have never, ever seen such a perfect pentagon expand from a single white bright point, evenly expand like this. This truly shook me and I am barely getting around to tell people now. Let me know if this is really something. It went from white, to Light blue. Odd thing is, when a booster falls through the atmosphere at night, usually at that altitude you see light from the setting sun above the lower atmosphere reflecting light off the trail, but I’ve never seen light at that altitude glow past midnight. We’re usually fully in the earths shadow by 2am. The video has geolocation, time and shot on iPhoneXR. Went from 5 lights, to 3, then 2. Then just slowly faded.
