Round rotating object with multi colored lights releasing several smaller objects - also round - with whitish blue lights
There was a circular flying craft - not very large - with multi colored lights. It seemed to be rotating as it flew. Several smaller circular ones - almost as if they were babies to the bigger one- came off of the larger one with whitish blue lights. This was over the 210 freeway between downtown Los Angeles and Altadena at approximately 8:00 pm. This may have been a drone. However everyone I have asked says they have not heard of such a drone type that emits smaller drones.
