Star like object gives sudden bright flash.
Cold, dry night with plenty of stars as I stepped outside to go to my car. I looked up, as I always do at night, and saw a star like object slowly moving from NW to SE. It was dim at first, but then suddenly gave a very bright flash, while keeping on the same course. It then dimmed out, but I could still see the dark outline, like a coal cinder.
It then became bright again but not as bright as the flash. It then dimmed out to the cinder like object until obscured by the tall pines in my yard.
I have seen this type object several times before over the years here; same course of travel, more or less, which is against the normal airline flight path, which is SW to NE heading to Warwick, RI's, Greene State Airport. No sound was heard at all. This was less dramatic a sighting than I've had in the past, but decided to report it anyway.
