2017-05-30 - Birch Tree, MO - Light

Lights inside and outside with scratching noises.

I was camping on my land in Birch Tree, Missouri. I was asleep in the RV, it was 1:45 AM, Tuesday May 30, 2017, when I was suddenly awake. I did not know immediately why I had woke up, but as I lay there, looking out of the window I noticed a very large, very bright star above the trees. It was about four times larger than the other stars and bright like a stadium light.

I had all the windows and blinds open that night to allow the breeze to keep me cool. I watched the “star” thinking that I had never seen one so brilliant before, and suddenly four lights came out of the “star.” I watched, stunned, as these four lights began blinking or pulsing and flew around the early morning sky. The large light, which I had thought a star, stayed higher in the sky, but the four pulsating lights flew lower, closer to the ground. The where perhaps 100 feet or so above the earth. They were whitish in color, not as bright as the original but they were blinking or pulsating, not sure how to describe it, and flying not randomly but back and forth like they were searching.

I was paralyzed with fear, not wanting them to know that I was there. Suddenly, in a fraction of a second, everything around me flashed very bright then dark again. I quietly get up and close all the windows and blinds, hoping to go unnoticed to the four flying “orbs.” They were not really round, rectangle box shaped with rounded corners. I laid back down, so I could peak under the curtains and that is when I noticed the blinking round light inside of my RV.

I was really doubting my own eyes at this point. It was above me in the corner of the RV. I was hoping that there was a hole in the roof. I looked around me and everything inside was very dark except the glowing round light in the corner of the ceiling in the RV.

This whole thing had been going on for about twenty minutes. I was more frightened than I could ever remember. I felt helpless against these lights. That is when the RV moved, I was hoping a bear had pushed against it. Then I heard the clawing and scratching coming from the left rear (across from the round light). I was again hoping that it was a bear, armadillo or very large mice trying to get in.

I finally just snapped out of my motionless state and grabbed one of the headlamps that I had close by and turned it on. The round pulsing light was gone, the noise stopped and everything appeared normal. I at 2:00 AM telling them what I was seeing. My mind fought to find rational reasons for what was going on. I turned the light back out around 2:30 and laid back down. I peeked under the curtain and saw the large “star” still in the sky. The round light that was inside my RV did not return neither did the scratching noises.

I had my two cats with me, one of them hid and the other stayed with me and was very nervous.

I have no Idea what time I finally fell asleep. I have heard about UFO sightings but I had never thought that they would be so frightening.
