Flanders NY duration 2minutes bright round white light heading South Eastern posted 06/08/16
I was walking my dog across the road from my house and I looked up at the stars. I have an app star and planet finder on my iPhone. I looked opposite from Mars toward the northern sky when I noticed a very bright light.
This light was much brighter then I've ever seen in the night sky. It was moving in a South Eastern direction very slowly.
I thought maybe it might be a helicopter at first but there was only a single bright light. I looked to see if there were any planes which I noticed one to the south and one to the North heading both toward the East keeping my eye on the object.
The object kept the same heading SE when it faded slowly until it appeared to go straight up and out of sight. I thought it may have gone behind a cloud but the sky tonight was clear as a bell over head. There were some cloud cover alone the horizon but not straight up where the light vanished. I believe this was something I can't explain.
