15-20 bright, red-orange lights moving from horizon to horizon over an 8 minute period.
Tonight (05 January 2016), I observed 15 to 20 bright red-orange objects, transiting the night sky over Lake Wylie, SC. They moved from horizon to horizon in a NNE to SSW direction, over a 5 to 8 minute period.
They appeared as bright red-orange dots, with irregular spacing along the line of flight, but all seemed be headed in the same direction, and at similar speeds.
No sound was detectable.
I have never seen anything like this, but the closest thing would be red distress flares--but they don't transit horizon to horizon.
