2015-12-31 - Fairbanks, AK

This is not a UFO sighting report, but rather a possible explanation of a report you talked about on Coast to Coast last week.

In Fairbanks, Alaska, you described a cluster of orangish lights floating through the air near the University of Alaska.

I am a pizza delivery man in Fairbanks which takes me to all corners of the city. Throughout the evening, between 7pm and 1am, I witnessed around dozen of these clusters, all over town, each ranging from about 5 to 10 orang-ish lights.

I strongly suspect these, including the report that was submitted to you, were in fact what is known as a "Sky Lanters". I have not seen one close up, but I took the time to check out the website for the local fireworks stand in North Pole, and they do sell them.

The company name is Gorilla Fireworks. They operate statewide but I believe only seasonally in North Pole. Here is a link to their website, and specificity the page talking about the Sky lanterns.

I hope this was helpful.
