Green fireball in sky observed from idyllwild mountain highway
I was driving down highway 74 about half a mile from the junction with the 243 toward Idyllwild and saw a large green ball in the sky. It was bright and stationary in the sky. After a couple seconds it began accelerating toward the ground at a high rate of speed and i could see what appeares to be orange flames behind it, though at a great distance. Seemed to be falling in the direction of hemet/san jacinto.
