ISS over OCNJ or something that can stop and start up in a new direction?
As we sat on my in-laws front porch (second floor), my wife noticed an object in the sky coming towards us (East). To us, it looked like an aircraft because of its speed, however it was not blinking, nor was it anywhere near as obvious as the other aircraft in the area. We thought maybe it was the ISS, BUT, after we ran upstairs to the rooftop deck, we lost sight of it.
There was a sea of stars, and not one of them was moving for about 20 min, until I noticed another light, not blinking or twinkling much like the other light we saw, start from a stationary position and start moving North. We saw no "trails" or other lights with these objects we saw.
They looked like a planet (not twinkling) and, for all we know, the two objects we saw could have been the same one, but it stopped for a time, then continued in another direction. In short - it was VERY strange. It didn't "shoot" across the sky, instead it was a gradual "flight", how! ever considering how high it looked it could not have been a plane.
As for a possible ISS sighting, why would the ISS stop for a few minutes then change direction? I need answers! Please, anyone, if you have any info for us let us know! Thanks.
