Orange-red light, which stopped, became even brighter, and then shot straight up into the night sky.
At approximately 23:15 Saturday evening, a group of 9 where sitting around a camp fire.
Staring into the brilliant sky looking for shooting stars, one of the persons in the group noticed a bright light east of Peterborough. Looking in the night sky, east towards Trenton, ON (Military Base), we all agreed that there was a bright light (orange/red) heading west towards Peterborough.
The light then stopped and became very bright and stopped for a moment and in an instant the light shot straight up into the sky.
Minute later we noticed planes travelling at high speeds at approximately the same altitude circulating a huge parameter where the bright orange/red light had been minutes before.
