2015-01-11 - Florissant, MO

Loud rumbling noise in the sky that lasted way to long but clouds were to dark to see.

On January 1, 2015, at around 5:58 pm, there was a very loud, low rumbling sound coming from the sky. It was loud enough that the sky had to be looked at to make sure a big jet, or several copters were not flying right over the homes. There was nothing but dark clouds, with that sound lingering for about 7 minutes before it quit, as fast as it started.

Then, approximately 10 minutes later, it occurred again for about 5 or 6 minutes, and upon listening to the sound, searching the sky for this noise, again it was just really dark, sounding almost like the rumble of a giant train, but the weird thing was with the first time, you could feel the vibration in the air.

It was an odd experience and was not a plane, jet or helicopter. Living close to the airport, we know the sounds of those and they do not linger with that low rumbling in the sound.
