We saw a brief flash near the horizon.
When almost completely dark out, we saw a brief, bright yellowish flash with the shape of a check mark or horizontal crescent.
It appeared just above the tree line and vanished at or below the tree line.
It appeared in the northwest sky and seemed to be about 15 miles away from us.
We were on the East end of Ward Rd.
