Two consecutive pairs of lights drop quickly from high altitude then disappear on a horizontal path.
In far distance west of Columbus, two lights appeared to be descending rapidly toward where the sun had just set. The lights converged and became one light, then fading out more and more, with two lights appearing again. Then two more lights descended rapidly on the same trajectory. The lights became less bright as the first two lights had done. My impression is that the objects were descending vertically, but then quickly transitioned to a horizontal flight path, and at a very high speed continued westward. It will be interesting to read whether others saw this in states just west of Ohio.
