Sound of large jet airliner performing touch and goes nearby, 5 seconds apart but no aircraft visible.
Hesitated posting this as unique category of ‘sighting’. July 2014, Los Colinas, TX, (Irving area) apartment complex 30 mi. east of DFW airport, weather clear appx. 3PM. Heard loud sound of jet aircraft approaching from the north ¼ mi. west of my location. No runway. Flat land near Trinity River. Did apparent ‘touch and go’ in front of me, then gained altitude, sound dissipating in southerly direction.
Five seconds later loud sound of jet aircraft approaching from south, touch and go, gaining altitude with noise dissipating in northerly direction. Six such passes. There was no airplane. At least 20 other tenants were also on their balconies looking for the phantom airplane. Went outside where man is pointing his cell camera toward the sky. When asked if he had seen anything, he said he hadn't. Sent to Linda Howe at the time who replied as puzzled as was I.
