Flying at 8500 feet. Encountered small red sphere.
I was ((flying)) a cessna 150 from east to west at 8500 feet, when I noticed a bright metallic red object off the left side of my nose at about my 11 o'clock.
It very rapidly sped toward me, and when it seemed to be about 30 feet off my left wing, it seemed to slow down considerably.
Once it transitioned to about my 7 o'clock, I lost it in the morning sun.
Very surreal experience for a pilot.
