Two fast-moving, low altitude landing lights on nearly silent aircraft.
It was about 21:00 on Friday evening, April 18th. The sky was overcast. We were overflown by an aircraft with what appeared to be two white landing lights. It looked to be flying low, maybe at about 500 to 1000 feet up. It came roughly out of the north, flying towards the south. We were in front of the Indian restaurant at the intersection of Wilson Mills Road and Richmond Road in Richmond Heights, Ohio.
Cuyahoga County airport is just a couple of miles north of that location between Richmond and Bishop Roads. So I just assumed it was a small plane or business jet taking off and gaining some altitude. But two things were unusual for me & my wife. First it was really clipping along. It seemed to be going really fast for as low as it was flying. And secondly, the darn thing was nearly silent.
After it was a bit south of us and we lost the two lights in the clouds we thought we heard a low rumble of a jet. My wife noted: "Why do we hear it now and not when it was right over us?" I live about 3-4 miles southwest of Cuyahoga Country airport and we are overflown by their small business jets. They make a lot of noise.
This thing was just too fast and too quiet to seem right. I had read about the triangular UFO craft, but we saw no outline of the craft. And it was just two white lights, not three.
I had been a bit curious about the airport. About 4 years ago they put a 33KV, three-phase power feed from the intersection of Bishop & Highland Roads which runs north on Bishop until it is next to the airport grounds, right in front of the Swaglok company buildings. Then it runs down a power pole and into the ground. No other customers tie into that power feed along Bishop Road, before it goes underground. Maybe they have some machinery/technology that needs a lot of power.
There is also a company right around the corner from Swaglok on Avion Park Drive that does work on those "memory metals" - - - the ones you can deform and then they regain their original shape after being heated with a torch.
Might all be coincidence. Maybe there was a weird air layer that reduced the jet noise level. But I don't think that was the case. That was one low-flying, fast moving, nearly silent pair of white lights.
