Lights in sky above Cook Inlet, Alaska
Looking NW there across Cook Inlet from the western bluff of the Kenai Peninsula, the three of us (my wife and I, along with my 21 yr old nephew) saw four very large bright lights glowing in the sky above the mountain range.
By the time I ran downstairs three of the 4 dimmed a bit bright white to dim red/orange like a flare.
We all ran out to the deck and looked through binoculars and saw the second light from the left had a clear smoke/vapor trail like it had fallen from the sky, but it wasn't moving, just hanging in the sky like the other lights.
After about 20 minutes the lights just dimmed to darkness without moving.
