Bright Pinpoint of Light Near Aircraft Contrail.
I was watching a commercial flight fly overhead at a very high altitude, leaving contrail. After about 5 minutes, the contrail was dissipating and I noticed a metallic pinpoint of light, much like a star suddenly appear near the contrail. At first I thought it could be a balloon that someone had released, but the object - or pinpoint of light - stayed perfectly still. Whatever it was remained stock-still in the same position for about 2 minutes, then quickly faded out. It struck me that it may have been a bright star briefly shining so brightly that it could be seen in daylight.
I was looking roughly southwest from North Hollywood/Toluca Lake towards the Hollywood Hills/LA/Santa Monica area and the object might have been roughly over West Hollywood or Los Angeles. The sky was clear and blue, it was bright daylight, and it was about 75 degrees.
I am a film industry professional, with 10 years of experience as a Visual Effects Producer. I am also a fixed wing and rotary wing private pilot with about 400 hours of flight time.
