5 orange lights in southern sky by Gila Bend Arizona.
My family and I were approximately 20 miles west of Gila Bend, Arizona, traveling eastbound on highway 8 from San Diego when I noticed a strange orange light in the southern sky.
At first I dismissed it as a light on a distant hill side, but then it got brighter when suddenly a second orange circle appeared followed by a third and fourth. The lights seemed to form a V formation.
The lights dimmed out after a good minute. As we traveled west of Gila bend the lights appeared again but this time there were 5 and they appeared and disappeared as if playing leap frog with each other in a straight line.
After a couple more brief sightings of one or two of the lights, one distinct light appeared and stayed in the night sky for about 15 minutes and seemed to stay even with our vehicle.
