Bright, round object flashed brilliant white before climbing at a high rate of speed.
SIGHTING LOCATION: 8 miles southeast of Canon City, Colorado.
TIME: 6:00 p.m. RMST.
DESCRIPTION: Round , bright white light, Venu-size. No sound, no blinking lights, no trail or tail.
I looked up at the night sky and noticed a bright Venus-sized object directly overhead. Having already located Venus to the east of the object, I looked more intently at it. After about five seconds, it flashed a brilliant white (I initially thought it exploded) and climbed to the north at very high rate of speed, being visible for only another 15 seconds. As it moved away, the light began to appear more bluish green with distance.
