White Orb outside of plane on flight from Atlanta to Chicago.
I was on a flight to Chicago (O’Hare) from Atlanta. The city is a best guess based off of the time of the sighting and my guess as to our place in our flight trajectory. I was sitting in a window seat, row 10 of the plane. I was looking out the window at some of the city lights and suddenly a white orb showed up, at approximately the same altitude of the plane.
From my vantage point, it looked to be slightly in front of the plane and a short distance away on the left side of the plane (the side I was sitting on). It was hard to gauge the distance being that it was partly cloudy and flying at night.
I was able to observe the light/orb for about 30-40 minutes. The object would move farther away and then back, which was observable by seeing it fly through the clouds and then back into the open nearer the plane. Every so often, it would make quick movements moving up and down, like almost mocking the plane and yet flying with us at the same time.
I wanted to take a picture of the object, but my phone was in my carry-on bag in the overhead bin and being an evening flight, a vast majority of the passengers were sleeping.
The object flew away and disappeared approximately 15 minutes before our landing in Chicago.
