Observed (4) unique red orbs that disappeared and arrived and drifted unlike an aircraft.
Lake St. Louis, MO, 8:10 PM to 8:17 PM, Saturday, November 30th.
First, I would like to say that I am a professional meteorologist with 17 years of forecasting experience and aviation knowledge.
On Saturday evening, November 30, 2013, between 8:10pm and 8:17pm, I witnessed an event that I cannot explain professionally.
My wife and I were driving around our subdivision looking at Christmas lights and were heading back home when I noticed (4) unique red orbs in the sky to the north-northwest. I pulled over and we watched the orbs and noticed they appeared to very slowly drift in an direction towards the east.
Then, gradually one of the orbs furthest to the east seemed to simply disappear. Then I noticed yet another orb lift what appeared upwards and fade away leaving two orbs. Then to the west-southwest of the western most orb an new red orb appeared brightly and gradually drifted eastward. The orb in front of it appeared to dip downward and fade while one of the other orbs lifted upward and faded. This continued for about 7 minutes with the orbs disappearing and a new one appearing to keep the number constant between 3 and 4. Finally, one by one, they all faded away and were gone, just as uniquely as they appeared.
I watched closely to see if I could make them out as navigation lights from aircraft but they never seemed to blink on and off like navigation lights should. They also did not move like typical approaching aircraft would when in the flight pattern with Lambert St. Louis International Airport. There was also ZERO sound. It was as quiet as could be. No engine sounds or anything.
Towards the end of the odd event, I was able to capture some video using my iPhone. I know the quality is not very high but if gives you some perspective as to the event. The video is available to view at:
