Purple spherical light in the sky.
My girlfriend and I were walking my dog when I noticed a very bright purple light in the sky. (It was a very over cast night, with patches of thick clouds, this area of the sky was very cloudy). We watched the light in the sky, shimmering purple as if it was a christmas light in the sky, and then it slowly fell below the trees. We were able to run to a closer location where we saw the object again and it appeared to move off in a horizontal direction. This all happened N - NW of our location.
