3 red/orange lights over Sacramento
At 7:15 PM on the 29th of October, 2013 I witnessed 3 bright red/orange lights of the same brightness, to the East of Sacramento, California.
Viewing from Fulton Ave. near Cottage Way, they were approximately 30-40 degrees high traveling from NE to SW (225° heading), slow and steady. They were all moving along the same path, on the same line, the 2 in front were approximately 5 degrees apart with the 3rd partially obscured by clouds, another 15 degrees behind, no navigation lights could be seen.
I looked down at my iPhone to text a friend, when I looked back up with the intent of trying for a video, they were gone. It could have been a meteor breaking up but they were moving very, very slowly. The speed was about the same as an airliner at altitude but the lights were much brighter, and they disappeared in a clear area of the sky.
Total duration of sighting was 20-30 seconds.
