stationary light circled by helicopters
Stationary light in the southwest quadrant of Salt Lake Valley. Intermittent red flash on right side of light. After several minutes, four helicopters approached -- from different directions and circled the stationary light. After awhile, a couple of the helicopters veered off and 2 more approached/circled. This was seen by myself and another witness while in a parking lot after dark. It was amazing to us that no one else looked up!!! -- even though we were exclaiming over the sighting. When we came back one hour later, there were no planes coming in for landing over the area in which the object/light was seen (an area which is usually a flight path for incoming planes to the SL International Airport).
