Strange lights, Michigan night sky 10:53 PM

My girlfriend and I were in my car on our way home from my Mother's house. Upon looking in the sky toward the moon we noticed 4 to 5 odd balls of light, moving quite fast very high in the sky. They were not air planes as they did not have flashing lights which an airplane had we saw shortly after.
After staring at these moving lights for almost 3 minutes, more appeared. I counted a total of 12 but there may have been more. I physically watched the remaining UFOs appear out of nowhere. They did not all appear at the same time, it seemed to be one to two at a time.
These lights seemed to be traveling in an unorganized cluster type fashion. I know they were not air planes as at times some lights flew very close to each other. One seemed to fly into the other and almost passed through as they continued to travel. I caught only one on video but it is not of the highest quality. Please let me know if any other reports were made.
