Still, bright light - too bright, large to be a star -seen during storms in Albuquerque. Did not move for 30-40 mins, then disappeared.
Driving on Interstate 25 from Santa Fe to Albuquerque at night, my husband (an engineer) and I (a journalist) noticed a stationary white light that I had first assumed to be a very bright star. Few stars could be seen at the time because massive thunderstorms surrounded the area. But the object was simply too bright and a bit too low to be a star.
It also had a slight oblong shape to it with light that seemed to emanate from it. When a cloud would move across the object, a halo effect was created as when airplane lights move through clouds. No star would have produced that kind of effect.
We watched it for about 30 minutes or so, and then it just disappeared.
We never saw movement.
