This did Not turn out to be a UFO, however the details were interesting to me.
My sister and several other people were waiting to cross the street at the intersection of 61st and Alki Beach Drive when they noticed a flotilla of orange lights coming across Eliott Bay from the direction of Magnolia Bluff. My sister thought, being the time of Yom Kippur, may be it was a celebration light display.
One of the lights flickered out as it came towards them and landed in front of them on the street. It was about a two foot diameter canvas type hot air type "balloon" and suspended. Beneath it was a triangular platform upon which had been an incindinary device.
A woman in the group identified herself as someone who works for the police department and took the device away with her.
