Star like object that emits light at different levels of brightness and duration.
Hello I stumbled across your website through google. I wanted to report a strange “star” that for the past 2 months has been appearing in the night sky of Dallas.
Its Coordinates is 215 DEGREES southwest of the southeast Dallas sky. It is easily seen as it is commonly brighter than the North star.
This strange light sometimes becomes dim like most stars, but for the most part it is unusually brighter than most of them. It just recently appeared as I said above about 2 months ago.
It is sometimes seen higher in the sky or lower by a few degrees even after the upward or downward shift it sits stationary, and certain nights its always near the same area of coordinates given above. It is currently 11/29/2013 19:52 hrs and it disappeared but the times it does vanish varies, it normally appears everyday around 17:30-19:30hrs approximately.
I don’t know what it could be, I assumed at first that it was one of our planets, as was reported that during this year we would see Venus, but later dismissed that assumption after finding out Venus would only be visible for a few nights.
This “star” as I call it, sometimes glows an orange tint and when it does it is usually farther away, and every now and again can be spotted further to the southeastern part of the sky. It would look like Mars would when looking at it with the naked eye. When looking at this “star” with the naked eye in its brightest stage it begins to look as if it glows a little with a faint misty aura around it.
I'm sure this might just be due to the human eye and how it works, but I have a feeling it is something else. I do believe it is a UFO as I cannot identify it, but I also do not have a telescope to see this marvelous site.
