10-15 blue pulsating lights in a horizontal line that spanned north and south bound lanes of freeway
On Saturday, July 27, 2013 at around 9:00 pm, my husband, daughter and I were approximately 5 minutes outside of Cordes Junction, Arizona headed NNE towards Camp Verde, Arizona on Interstate 17 when my husband and I witnessed a horizontal line of pulsating blue lights in the distance. There were approximately 10-15 blue lights lined up and appeared to span the two northbound and the two southbound lanes of I-17 and a little more. We kept driving and saying, “What is that” for approximately 2 minutes then they all seemed to pulsate and vanish a few at a time until they were all gone in seconds.
We continued our trek, searching the sky and the land around us to see if we could see anything until we arrived at Camp Verde.
Our 6 year old daughter said she saw them and they looked like “blue stars” to her. I asked if she remembers anything else and she said she doesn’t because she was tired.
The night was very dark as the moon was covered by rain clouds. There was also lightning to the east. There were multiple cars in front of us headed NNE as well as cars headed south in the southbound lanes. The lights were comparable to what Venus appears to be, very bright and bigger than the stars around it. The lights were a deep, but bright blue color. Also, for reference, according to the map on my iPhone, Cordes Junction is 26.9 miles from Camp Verde.
