Yellow blinking glow emanating from a clearing surrounded by wetlands in a sparsely populated area over a 3 hour period.
At 0:30, my son was frightened by a glow emanating approximately 100 yards behind and 300 yards to the right of where we were. It was of a yellowish hue, similar to a headlight. It was of variable intensity, on occasion only illuminating the area it was in and other times brightening the entire back yard. I had my son go to sleep while I promised to watch it to make sure there was nothing wrong. It was in a clearing in the forested wetlands behind my parents' house. There was no visible source for the light. Only one car drove down the road the entire time I watched. It was obviously an artificial source of light, as it would blink on 1-3 times in a one or two second period, then turn off. I counted the intervals in my head and although it sometimes blinked after a three or nine count, it usually was after a fifteen one thousand or sixteen one thousand count.
It wasn't fire or an electrical discharge of some kind, and was far too bright at times to ! have been a flashlight. I would describe it as a glow, because we never saw a lightsource. I am physically disabled and was unable to investigate. There was no reaction from the dog or cats in the house.
