2013-07-06 - Mission Hill, SD - Fireball

Two bright orange objects in the northern sky.

On 07/06/13 at about 0300 hours, my girlfriend and I were fishing at a small lake near Mission Hill, SD. We were both facing the northern sky, when two orange fireballs or orbs appeared in the northern sky. The objects were bright orange in color, and low on the horizon. The objects made no noise. Due to the darkness of the remote location, I was unable to estimate a distance of the objects.

The objects hovered in the same location for an estimated 5-10 minutes. The objects then started to move slowly to the west one at a time.

The objects moved an estimated 45 or 50 degrees from their original hovering location and stopped.

Once the objects stopped, they hovered again for an estimated one minute.

After the one minute time frame had elapsed, the objects simply faded out into the darkness.

During the time the objects were moving, wild coyotes in the area started howling until the objects disappeared.

No other abnormal aerial objects were witnessed until we left the location at aproxmently 0500 hours.
