Ball of light or fire over East Shelby County
Tuesday June 25,2013 at about 8:55pm Me and my son just walked outside to leave when I looked up and saw (it) going from south to north in the east. (It) looked like an orangish ball of light or fire moving about as fast as a passenger jet, but this was no jet.
8 years I have lived in the landing path of KMEM. I know what a jet looks like when their coming in or going out, FedEx has A LOT of flights coming in each night at about 22:00 right over me and I can see them for miles out.
It was approx. 3 to 5000 feet up and approx. 5 miles away, towards Arlington,Tn.
I walked over to a clearing to get another view, (trees in a field started blocking my view) but, it never came back into view.
I didn't see any craft just a ball of light or fire, It was not blinking, it was like a ball of fire, and way too slow to have been a meteor.
