My boyfriend and i were on our way home from my parents when we seen a ball of fire in the the sky.
On Sunday June 16, 2013 my boyfriend and I were heading out of the neighborhood going south about to turn on 1500s going east when we see a ball of light in the sky it looked like a big fireball it was moving in the same direction then it stopped and hovered above an old factory that is not in use at the moment. I then pulled out my phone and started recording this event, once I started recording it start to go towards the north coming at us.
I kept recording it with the moon in the background it was about half the size of the moon. We then called my father and he went out into his front yard along with my little brother to see if they could see what we were seeing.
The fireball was about 300 or 400 feet above the ground going towards us then it changed directions and started going west. My father could not see this, from the back it looked like a reddish orange light. My boyfriend then said he seen it go out and could no longer see it I was still looking at it and it changed to a gray color then it looked like it started falling and kept getting closer to the ground and when it went behind a tree it went out of my view. As soon as I couldn’t see it anymore a second on appeared in the same place the first one was then again it did the same thing, and my father and brother were able to see the second one the whole thing from about 2 blocks away from where we were.
We proceeded home and my dad stayed out and on the phone with my boyfriend and watched the same thing for a few more minutes and said a third one came and started heading in the direction towards him which would be north and he said it looked like a fireball then it stopped started going west the color went out and shot faster than a plane could go to the west. He said it looked like a fireball when it was coming towards him then it stopped before it turned and changed into a gray color and looked like it had a reddish/orange lite.
When we got home I then went in my phone to look for the video and it was not there and the one that did record the image did not show. I found this very weird because I took about 4 minutes of video and it just disappeared off my phone and the whole time we were on the phone with my dad it kept cutting in and out which it should not do that in that area. Also he thought what was weird was how fast it took off in the opposite direction and that the aircraft did not make any kind of sounds especially for something of that size and speed it should have sounded like a jet and there was nothing.
Not one of us heard a sound like a plane or a jet while the whole thing happen it was silent the whole time except for the normal traffic sounds.
