it was not a star.
The sun had not set. The sky was blue. The stars were not yet visible. i was looking west when i noticed a bright star traveling slowly from east to west. i say star because it was not flashing and left no trail. it traveled for approx. three min. then faded and disappeared.
The previous night there was the exact same occurrence only at a later hour. that occurrence was in the same position in the sky.
